Meet Frazier Park's New Branch Supervisor

Megan Logsdon loves to help people use the library. A native of Bakersfield, she says she has “always loved the Mountain Communities.” So when she saw the Kern County Library’s Help Wanted ad on The Mountain Enterprise website for a branch supervisor in Frazier Park, she applied for the job immediately (as did nearly 50 other applicants). Logsdon, 27 was hired in November. Then went for an intensive month of training. She enjoys her new job showing the public how to get the most out of their library.

“A lot of people don’t know they can borrow books for free from any library within our system, which is more than just Kern County,” she said. The San Joaquin Valley Library System includes nine other counties. Kern County Library cardholders can also order books through interlibrary loan “from other systems if our patrons don’t find what they want in our own catalog,” the new branch supervisor added.

Logsdon plans to open a new reading program for kids in the new facility on Park Drive next summer.

“It will help keep kids reading during summer break,” she said. She’s also excited about the new building itself and thinks it will be a big asset to the community and will “energize people to come in and use [the library].”
