Thanking Veterans by Providing Services
Mike Penney, representative for the VA who is available to talk with veterans the second Tuesday of each month at the Family Resource Center in Frazier Park (above the library). No reservation is necessary.

It was an emotional Veteran’s Day once again at the Cody Prosser Veteran’s Memorial in Frazier Mountain Park on November 11. Simba Wiley Roberts coordinated a heartfelt tribute to our nation’s veterans. Cody Prosser’s brother, Jarudd Prosser, who now coaches football at Frazier Mountain High School, joined the event. Mike Penney, Kern County’s representative for Veterans Affairs said, “We want every vet to leave our office knowing that they’ve been served the best we can serve them!”

His organization is available to vets in the Mountain Communities on the second Tuesday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon at the Family Resource Center in Frazier Park. No appointment is needed. He wants all veterans to come find out what can be done to get them their benefits.

Penney said the children of a veteran with a “zero+disability” can go to any California state college tuition-free.

This man wants vets to get their benefits. Call 245-4303 to the Family Resource Center for questions. All veterans are encouraged to stop in.
