From Supervisor Watson's press release:
FRAZIER PARK (Thursday, Oct. 8, 5:10 p.m.) Fourth District Supervisor Ray Watson will hold a public meeting regarding the formation of a Mountain Communities Municipal Advisory Council (MCMAC) to serve the Frazier Mountain Communities of Pine Mountain Club, Lebec, Frazier Park, Fort Tejon/Tejon Village, Pinon Pines and Lake of the Woods.
The meeting will be held October 29, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Center located in Frazier Mountain Park at Glendale Trail and Park Drive in Frazier Park.
The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the initial appointees of the MCMAC, review the proposed bylaws and seek input from the community regarding issues they would like the MCMAC to address.
Supervisor Watson intends to seek approval of the MCMAC and its bylaws at a meeting of the Board of Supervisors later in November.
Watson said, “I believe the Municipal Advisory Council can provide the framework for more frequent interaction and building consensus among the Mountain Communities on matters that are important to them. The MCMAC will have an important role in seeking input from a wide spectrum of local interests. I hope this will be a vehicle to partner with the community on projects that enhance the economic vitality and quality of life for its residents.”
