Soccer brings unexpected thrills. The U-10 Rebels won tickets to see the L.A. Galaxy in Los Angeles for being a winner of this year's Super Soccer Saturday banner contest.
Team sponsor, Cavaretta's Italian Deli in Canoga Park, (owned by David Weisberg and Paul Nunneri) offered to give our players lunch if they stopped on the way to the game to take a picture with the owner. The Rebels and their parents all traveled together to visit their sponsor. What a treat. They have everything from lasagna to cannolis-all handmade with love from the Cavaretta's crew daily. If you are from back east then this place would surely make you feel at home.
After an amazing lunch we all headed to the game. The Galaxy played Toronto FC and won 2-0.
We got to sit right behind one of the goals. In the second half of the game got to see an up-close goal scored for the L.A. Galaxy, It was an exciting night for the team, one we will never forget. For most of us it was our first match. We had a blast.
Thanks to our parents for your support of our children and thanks to American Youth Soccer for giving us the opportunity to share this great experience with our kids.
